Cancellation & Refund Policy – WayToKedar

This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all bookings made through WayToKedar (https://waytokedar.com/), operated by Way To Kedar LLP. By confirming a booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.

  1. Cancellation by Customer

If you choose to cancel your booking, the following cancellation charges will apply:

  1. No Show / Early Exit
  • No refund will be provided in case of:
    • No show
    • Late arrival
    • Early departure from the trip
  1. Partial Utilization of Services
  • If any part of the trip has already been used, refunds (if applicable) will be adjusted proportionately.
  • Charges imposed by hotels, transport providers, or other vendors will be deducted.

 

  1. Cancellation by WayToKedar

WayToKedar reserves the right to cancel bookings due to:

  • Weather conditions (common in Kedarnath/Char Dham routes)
  • Natural disasters (landslides, floods, etc.)
  • Government restrictions or advisories

In such cases, customers will be offered:

  • Rescheduling option (preferred)
    OR
  • Refund after deducting non-recoverable vendor charges

 

  1. Helicopter Booking – Special Terms (Kedarnath Yatra)

Helicopter services for Kedarnath are highly regulated and weather-dependent. The following terms shall apply:

5.1 Booking Authority & Allocation

  • Helicopter tickets are generally issued through authorized platforms such as IRCTC or approved private operators.
  • WayToKedar acts only as a facilitator and does not control ticket allocation, availability, or confirmation timelines.

5.2 Non-Guaranteed Confirmation

  • Helicopter bookings are subject to availability and are not guaranteed at the time of package booking.
  • In case tickets are not secured, alternative arrangements (road/trek) or refund of the helicopter component will be offered.

5.3 Weather Dependency

  • All helicopter operations are strictly dependent on weather conditions in the Kedarnath region.
  • Flights may be:
    • Delayed
    • Rescheduled
    • Cancelled (even at the last moment)

WayToKedar shall not be held liable for such disruptions.

5.4 Refund Policy for Helicopter Tickets

  • Refunds for helicopter tickets will be processed only as per the operator’s policy.
  • In most cases:
    • Full or partial refund may be issued if the flight is cancelled due to weather
    • No refund may be applicable for no-show or late reporting
  • Service/convenience charges may be non-refundable.

 

5.5 Reporting Time & Compliance

  • Passengers must report at the helipad at least 1–2 hours prior to departure.
  • Failure to report on time will be treated as a no-show (no refund).
  • Valid ID proof is mandatory.

 

5.6 Weight & Safety Restrictions

  • Helicopter operators follow strict weight limitations (generally 75–80 kg per passenger).
  • Additional weight may attract extra charges.
  • Final seating is at the discretion of the operator based on load balancing.

 

5.7 Rescheduling & Adjustment

  • In case of flight cancellation:
    • Passengers may be adjusted in the next available slot
    • Or shifted to alternate dates (subject to availability)
  • Accommodation and additional stay costs due to delays shall be borne by the traveler.

5.8 VIP Darshan & Bundled Services

  • Helicopter booking does not guarantee VIP darshan unless explicitly included in the package.
  • Any bundled services are subject to availability and local regulations.

 

5.9 Liability Disclaimer

WayToKedar shall not be responsible for:

  • Operational decisions of helicopter companies
  • Flight cancellations or delays
  • Losses arising due to missed connections or itinerary changes

 

  1. Non-Refundable Components

The following may be non-refundable:

  • Hotel advance payments
  • Transport bookings
  • Registration/permit fees
  • VIP darshan or special पूजा bookings
  1. Force Majeure

No guaranteed refund shall be applicable in case of events beyond control, including but not limited to:

  • Landslides
  • Floods
  • Road blockages
  • Pandemics
  • Political disturbances or government-imposed restrictions

However, WayToKedar will make best efforts to provide:

  • Alternative arrangements
  • Travel credits or rescheduling options

 

  1. Amendments / Rescheduling
  • Changes to travel dates or services are subject to:
    • Availability
    • Applicable charges
  • Price differences (if any) must be paid by the customer.

 

  1. Refund Processing Timeline
  • Refunds will be processed within 7–15 working days
  • Amount will be credited to the original payment method
  • Delays due to banks or payment gateways are beyond our control
  1. Mode of Refund

Refunds will be made via:

  • Bank transfer
  • UPI / Original payment source

Cash refunds are generally not provided.

  1. Important Advisory

Kedarnath and Char Dham travel are weather-sensitive and terrain-dependent. Customers are strongly advised to:

  • Keep buffer days in their itinerary
  • Follow government and local advisories
  • Stay flexible with travel plans
  1. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This policy shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
